Prince William shared a heartwarming update about his 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, with a young girl who was curious about her whereabouts
Prince William, 41, was at the event on June 5, where he met the great-granddaughter of Captain Alastair Bannerman, a soldier involved in the D-Day Landings. The Prince of Wales read a diary entry of Captain Bannerman's during the service, The Independent reported.
In a video shared by the outlet, Prince William asked the youngster if she enjoyed the Red Arrows' aerial display. The girl’s companion then mentioned that she was wondering where Charlotte was. Leaning down, Prince William replied, "Charlotte's at school! Charlotte's got exams. She wasn’t looking forward to the school day," he added with a hopeful smile, "Hopefully it’s all gone well."
Prince William and Princess Charlotte share a sweet father-daughter bond, evident from their public interactions. They’ve been seen together on numerous occasions, such as when Charlotte reached out for a hug from her dad on the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour in June 2023. They also teamed up to wish good luck to England’s women’s soccer team via videos before championship games over the past two summers.
In April, Prince William shared Princess Charlotte’s favorite joke, which starts with "Knock, knock!", during a visit to a school. Meanwhile, Prince George, 10, has also voiced his concerns about school tests. Kate Middleton shared last October that George frequently comments on the repetitive nature of his exams, saying, "Mummy, I keep getting tested all the time."
The Princess of Wales, 42, recently stayed in Windsor to support Prince George during his school exams, missing the third cycle of Prince William's Earthshot Prize Awards in Singapore.
Prince William returned to his royal duties in mid-April after Princess Kate announced on March 22 that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. At the recent D-Day anniversary service, Prince William assured a veteran that his wife is "doing well."
The event marked a rare joint appearance by Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla, who all attended the U.K.’s national commemorative event on June 5. The next day, the three royals continued the commemorations in France. King Charles and Queen Camilla attended an event at the British Normandy Memorial, while Prince William represented the King at the international ceremony at Omaha Beach, joining over 25 heads of state, including U.S. President Joe Biden and various European royals and veterans.
