The latest buzz is that Grace Crompton, the rising star of Team GB's rugby sevens squad, has a famous family connection that's just come to light.  Grace, at just 22 and already making waves in the rugby world, is the step-granddaughter of none other than West End legend Michael Ball!

The 62-year-old superstar, known for his iconic roles and smooth vocals, married Grace’s grandmother, Cathy McGowan, before Grace was even born. Talk about a showbiz pedigree! The rugby sensation, who played a key role in Monday night’s Olympics quarter-final (even though the team faced a tough defeat against the USA), revealed that Michael Ball, affectionately known as ‘Bally’ to her, has been a steadfast supporter throughout her career.

In an interview with BBC Radio 2, Grace shared, “Bally is my step-grandad, but he’s been in our family since my mum Emma was born, so he’s all I’ve ever known. In all seriousness, he is an absolute fan of ours. He always tells me that he never thought he would be cheering on women’s rugby sevens, but here he is now.”
